Shawna's
parents, Earl and Bernita, had two lovely felines. Bernita's buddy was Beau
Chat, a green-eyed boy with snow white fur who was totally deaf. Minou, a plump,
mostly white kitty with calico markings on her face and tail, was her daddy's
darling. Everything she did was completely remarkable. |

After
Earl went to be with the Lord in June 1997 and Beau, in his late teens, crossed
the Rainbow Bridge in April 1999, Minou became Bernita's special friend and
faithful companion. Following a short struggle with kidney disease, Minou joined
her brother Beau in March 2003. She is sorely missed! |

Charlie
Chompers was adopted from the Silver Lake
Animal Rescue League on May 10, 2003, at Pet Supplies Plus. Charlie was born
in April 2002 and was about to be euthanized with all his buddies at the pound
in Lincoln Park when he was miraculously delivered by the SLARL. He is an
extremely friendly and talkative tuxedo who quickly endeared himself to all. Charlie
oversees all that goes on in the house, both upstairs and down. |

Suzette was adopted on March 10, 2004, from the Animal Welfare Society of
Southeastern Michigan when she was about 18 months old. Suzette's picture appeared in a local paper, and
she was too cute to resist. She loved human companionship and did the
highest-stepping curly paws Shawna had ever seen! Suzette
(aka "Little Girl") gradually learned how to play and
how to stand up for herself against Charlie's occasional
"assaults." Suzette had some sort of deformity in her hips and
looked like a rabbit when she ran up the stairs. It took three tries
before the vets finally succeeded in spaying her. She stuck to her Mom like glue,
especially at bedtime, and had favorite "nap" spots in the
living room and TV room. Normally a "chow hound," Suzette lost
her appetite, and the vet finally concluded that she had FIP. She crossed
the Rainbow Bridge on April 17, 2009 |

Toshi Purrs-a-Lot
was adopted from Paws
for Life Rescue and Adoption on June 2, 2009, at the Bloomfield Hills
Petco. Toshi (rhymes with Kashi) is five or
six years old, and needed a new home after the death of her former owner.
She is a very laid-back calico who purrs loudly much of the time when a
person is present. Toshi enjoys sleeping in
her own bed and looking out of the window in the bedroom in which she is
staying while she adjusts to the sounds and smells of her new home. |
