On March 31, 2006, two older female felines were taken to Gasow Veterinary to be euthanized because someone in their "family" had allergies. Rather than kill these friendly kitties, who had been together since the younger was a kitten, the kind folks at Gasow decided to find them a home, together if possible. They are Panda Bear (formerly Hannah), an attention-loving tuxedo cat who suffers from hyperactivity at meal times, looks like she could be a relative of Purrin'Dot, and is also called "Panda Baby," "Panda Claws," or "Panda Bear in her underwear" (because of her strange white undercoat); and Calleigh duTwain (formerly Chloe), a lovely tabby with white kitty who is rather shy but speaks softly to her human parents (particularly when she wants dry chow), sits on Shawna's lap, and sleeps on Jim's bed. They officially joined Steiners' CATS on July 29, 2006, when Panda was 11 and Calleigh was 9.
